Greenproofing History
The concept for Greenproofing, was first conceived in 2002 by a pioneering group of faculty at the City College of New York. This multi-disciplinary team of researchers and educators at the college teamed up with the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce (NOAA) to create a program that would foster student diversity in environmental leadership.
In 2008 Greenproofing became a New York State non-profit corporation, maintaining its affiliation with the City College of New York and key campus partners such as the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies and the Economics Department.
